Heating and cooling in Plantation
Plantation's Building Safety pages print no dollar table for mechanical permits. Fees follow the Building Permit Fee Ordinance, Chapter 5, Article II of the City Code. They're based on the job's estimated value. The Department of Building Safety is in the Development Services Building, 401 NW 70th Terrace, 1st Floor, phone 954-797-2765, with an inspection line at 954-678-2632 and email at helpmebuilding@plantation.org. Office staff are in from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays, while chiefs, plan reviewers and inspectors work 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Customers must sign in by 5:15 p.m. Electrical, mechanical and plumbing work each need their own permit. A permit is valid 180 days from issue or 90 days after the last approved inspection. A contractor registered with the city must apply. Owners can apply too. The owner of a single-family home doing the work personally may file as owner/builder with an Owner/Builder Affidavit, after meeting the plan reviewer first. Applications and inspections run through the Accela Citizen Access portal, where only contractors registered with the city, or accounts activated by Building Safety, can submit an application. Florida sets Class A air-conditioning work as unlimited and Class B as limited to 25 tons of cooling. Fees track each job's value.

Nobody's given us a quote for work in Plantation yet, so this page can't show a city price. How we estimate costs.
Permits for heating and cooling work in Plantation
Florida cities and counties issue the permit for replacing an air conditioner, heat pump or furnace, and each sets its own fee; the state's $7,500 small-job permit exemption leaves out mechanical work. DBPR certifies or registers the air-conditioning contractor, so ask for that license number as well as what your permit office needs.
