In Sunrise, an A/C changeout doesn't need Planning review and goes directly to the Building Division, the city's permitting page says. Demolition, additions, alterations and new construction go through Broward County first. A permit issues only after structural, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and fire reviews all approve. Fees come due at submittal. Sunrise's flat mechanical fees on the Building Fee Schedule effective 10/01/2025 appear in two columns, an application fee and a remaining permit fee.
Residential A/C replacement is $55.61 and $166.83 each, and a commercial one is $98.39 and $295.16 each.
